Soldered Bottle Art Class at the Red Shed in Grapevine, Texas

Everyone may be tired of all of our posts about the Runs with Scissors Art Classes, but they are just so darn fun! It is truly amazing, all the gorgeous altered art that is being created at the Red Shed!

This last Thursday's class was Soldered Bottles. It was adding embellishments and art elements to an interesting bottle, for display or to give as keepsakes or great gifts.

Once again, Jeannie and Michele had tons of options for the ladies to choose from.

Lots of bottles........

Fun ingredients to put inside the bottles, for interest or to add to a theme....

Sand, glitter, rice, salt, so many choices and interesting textures....

Lots of gorgeous embellishments to add to the top........Charms, shells, rhinestones, crystals....what a great way to recycle broken crystals or glass stoppers!

With the choices made, the teaching began......

After the bottles are filled and decorated,

Foil, burnish, and solder the tops.......

The foil and solder the embellishment.................

Then solder the whole thing together, add interesting texture and dots. Michele and Jeannie where there the whole way to stimulate creativity and keep burned fingers at bay!
The ABSOLUTELY Gorgeous results!

Gayle made this with a wedding photo, rice, and the words "Cherish" inside. The broach is from their anniversary party...

Lisa found this interesting bottle....

That became the dress for her "dolled" up delight!

Jaymi went all GLAM....

This one is a crack up! Andrea put her dog's TEETH in a vintage Listerine bottle! The charm says "angel" on one side and "devil" on the other.....she says that perfectly describes her dog.

Love this one, reminds me of the Tin Man in Wizard of Oz....

Mari's bottle is Pretty in Pink and Blue........

Gigi made this great bottle, with her mom and brother also framed in solder...

Aren't they all absolutely gorgeous?
We want to thank everyone who has made the art classes so successful! We sold out every class the entire year, which is fabulous for a venture only a few months old.

  3. I was in such a hurry last night, I glanced through your post, loved it, thought about it, had to come back and look again! Now I've decided you all live in the wrong state! You need to move to Oregon and teach us girls these things! Karen
